Terms of Service & Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 23, 2026

Website: Shipping Container Store

Part 1: Terms of Service

Welcome to Shipping Container Store. By accessing our website, creating an account, purchasing our heavy-duty products (including dry storage, refrigerated, and customized containers), or utilizing our engineering, delivery, and maintenance services, you agree to be bound by the following comprehensive Terms of Service. Please read them thoroughly prior to initiating any commercial transactions with us.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating a user profile, utilizing our digital configuration tools, submitting an inquiry, or placing an official purchase order, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and unequivocally agreed to these Terms, as well as our global Privacy Policy. These terms constitute a legally binding contractual agreement between you (or the corporate entity you represent) and Shipping Container Store. If you do not agree to these terms, you must immediately discontinue use of this website, cancel any pending electronic actions, and refrain from engaging our service fleet. We reserve the right to amend, update, or overhaul these terms at any time without prior individualized notice, and your continued use of our platform signifies your acceptance of those updates.

2. Product Information and Availability

  • Inventory Accuracy and Variation: We strive to ensure all specifications, photographic depictions, digital renderings, and availability metrics for Dry Storage Containers, Refrigerated Containers, and Customized Containers are accurate and up to date. However, due to the nature of international maritime logistics, global fleet turnover, and production batches, exact physical dimensions, structural colors, manufacture years, and levels of cosmetic wear (particularly for used or cargo-ready fleets) can vary slightly from the images displayed online.

  • Custom Modifications and Engineering Approval: Orders placed through our In-House Engineering & Custom Modifications service are subject to a strict architectural blueprint sign-off protocol. Once our engineering yard drafts the schematics and you provide formal written or digital approval, the order transitions into active production. Because steel cutting, structural welding, and material procurement begin instantly, custom orders cannot be canceled, refunded, or structurally modified after sign-off without severe financial penalties, which include covering the cost of wasted steel, raw materials, engineering hours, and restocking fees.

3. Pricing, Payments, and Billing

  • Quotations and Market Volatility: All custom quotes, bulk order estimates, and modification projections generated by our automated platform or sales team are valid for a maximum of 14 calendar days from the date of issuance. This strict window is due to rapid fluctuations in global ocean freight costs, changing international supply chain tariffs, and the inherent volatility of the raw structural steel market. If a quote expires, a new assessment must be generated at prevailing market rates.

  • Payment Terms and Clearance: Full payment, cleared corporate funds, or verified financing approval from an accredited third-party lending partner is required in full prior to scheduling any custom fabrication, installing internal components, or dispatching transport vehicles. Shipping Container Store proudly accepts major corporate credit cards, secure bank wire transfers, certified bank checks, and corporate ACH payments. We reserve the right to hold any container at our depot until electronic funds have cleared our financial institution completely.

4. Delivery and Site Preparedness Services

Our Precision Delivery & Ground Placement service requires explicit, active cooperation, and site verification from the buyer:

  • Site Clearance and Access: You are solely responsible for ensuring that the entire delivery route—including public roads, private access gates, driveways, and overhead clear zones—can fully accommodate heavy-duty commercial transport equipment, such as large tilt-bed trailers, rollback trucks, or heavy crane trucks (HIAB).

  • Ground Conditions and Obstructions: The final placement surface must be solid, level, dry, and capable of supporting the immense weight of both the transport vehicle and the fully loaded or empty container. The site must be completely free of soft mud, deep sand, steep inclines, or overhead obstructions such as low-hanging utility power lines, cable wires, overhanging tree branches, or roof eaves.

  • Failed Deliveries and Re-consignment: If our transport team arrives at the scheduled delivery destination and deems the site structurally unsafe, inaccessible, or unready for container drop-off, the delivery will be aborted. In such events, the buyer will be charged a failed delivery penalty fee to cover driver time and fuel, plus the full cost of secondary transport scheduling, depot returning fees, and storage costs.

5. Maintenance, Inspections, and Warranties

  • Used Container Fleet “As-Is” Status: All certified cargo-ready and used containers undergo a rigorous pre-dispatch inspection at our depot to ensure they are completely wind and watertight (WWT). While we guarantee their underlying structural integrity, these used units are sold “as-is” regarding cosmetic appearance. This means buyers should expect minor surface rust, shallow dents, scratches, and historic structural panel patches that do not compromise the container’s utility.

  • Refrigerated Machinery and Electronics: The specialized refrigeration machinery, complex electrical arrays, and digital cooling compressors built into our “Reefer” units are subject to explicit operational warranties outlined in your specific procurement contract. Any unauthorized third-party mechanical repairs, structural alterations to the cooling components, or improper voltage connections executed by uncertified electricians will instantly void all fleet maintenance, repair, or replacement obligations held by Shipping Container Store.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the absolute maximum extent permitted by applicable local and international laws, Shipping Container Store, its corporate affiliates, directors, employees, or logistics partners shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages whatsoever. This strict limitation includes, but is not limited to: loss of commercial profits, business interruptions, third-party project delays stemming from freight disruptions, structural site damage during placement, or the physical damage, spoilage, or total loss of internal cargo and temperature-sensitive goods due to unexpected mechanical failures of our refrigerated units. The maximum aggregate financial liability of Shipping Container Store for any single claim shall never exceed the exact dollar amount paid by the customer for the specific unit or service in dispute.

Part 2: Privacy Policy

At Shipping Container Store, we are fully committed to protecting your privacy, maintaining data transparency, and securing your personal and corporate identifiers. This Privacy Policy details exactly how we collect, process, utilize, and safeguard your data across our digital ecosystem.

1. Information We Collect

To process your transactions efficiently, engineer your custom specifications accurately, and coordinate complex transport logistics seamlessly, we must collect specific subsets of information:

  • Personal and Corporate Identifiers: This includes your first and last name, authorized corporate title, company name, corporate email addresses, direct phone numbers, billing details, and exact physical delivery addresses or precise GPS geographic coordinates for site drops.

  • Financial Data: All credit card data, banking numbers, and transaction authorizations are processed through heavily encrypted, secure, PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment gateways. We do not store, view, or retain raw, unencrypted financial credentials on our internal servers.

  • Technical and Usage Data: When you browse our online store, we automatically collect technical metadata via cookies and web beacons. This includes your IP address, browser type and version, time zone settings, operating system, and detailed site interaction analytics to help us optimize page load speeds and user experiences.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is strictly restricted to executing core corporate operations and delivering high-quality client services, which specifically include:

  • Verifying your commercial identity, processing sales transactions, tracking inventory allocation, and generating structural fabrication blueprints for our engineering team.

  • Coordinating directly with our heavy transport operators, freight networks, and crane dispatchers to execute accurate site delivery and ensure clear communication during transit.

  • Dispatching mobile maintenance repair technicians to your physical location to perform certified structural inspections or machinery service overhauls.

  • Complying with federal tax mandates, state business audits, international maritime customs regulations, and advanced anti-fraud screening protocols.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding data monetization. We do NOT sell, trade, rent, or lease your personal or corporate information to third-party marketing companies, data brokers, or external advertising networks. We only disclose essential data sets to vetted, contractually bound third parties vital to executing your services:

  • Logistics and Freight Partners: Third-party heavy-haulers, crane operators, and local freight dispatchers who absolutely require your physical drop-off address, site contact name, and phone number to execute delivery safely.

  • Financial Gateways: Secured merchant banking networks and credit check institutions required to authorize transaction compliance and prevent identity theft.

  • Legal Compliance and Protection: Law enforcement, governmental agencies, or regulatory bodies when strictly required to do so by a binding legal subpoena, judicial court order, or international trade audit.

4. Data Security

We implement an advanced, multi-layered matrix of electronic, administrative, and physical security measures to safeguard your sensitive information against unauthorized access, accidental alteration, disclosure, or total data breach. Our digital infrastructure uses industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL/TLS) data encryption protocols for all data in transit, enterprise-grade network firewalls, and strict role-based access control (RBAC) frameworks that restrict data visibility solely to authorized personnel who require it to complete their operational duties.

5. Your Rights and Opt-Outs

Regardless of your geographic location, we grant you comprehensive control over your data profile. You have the right to formally request access to the personal data we hold about you, request immediate corrections to inaccurate or outdated corporate profiles, or request the total deletion of your profile from our systems. Please note that we are legally barred from deleting data that we are explicitly obligated to retain for federal tax audits, mandatory corporate accounting, or active litigation compliance. To exercise any of these privacy rights, please contact our dedicated Data Compliance Officer via our official website contact portal.
